How to Make a Comic

A beginner's guide to creating your first mini-comic on MiniComix — from idea to published story in minutes.

1. Open the Creator

Head to the Create page. You can start from scratch or let MiCo, our AI co-pilot, help you brainstorm. The creator supports both quick strip comics and full multi-page issues.

2. Describe Your Story

Type your idea in plain English — a setting, a character, a gag. MiCo turns it into a panel-by-panel draft with suggested dialogue. Refine the prompts until you love the direction.

3. Pick Your Style & Characters

Choose an art style (cartoon, manga, noir, and more). Build characters in the shared database or reuse existing ones, so your cast stays consistent across every panel and issue.

4. Generate & Edit Panels

AI generates each panel. Use the panel editor to adjust layouts, add speech and thought bubbles, captions, and reorder panels with drag-and-drop until the flow is right.

5. Publish & Share

Publish to the community with one tap, or start a series so readers can follow along. Every published comic gets a shareable link with a preview image for social media.

6. Engage & Grow

Readers can like, comment, and follow your series. Join groups, message other creators, and climb the progression levels as you publish more.

Tips for Better Comics

  • Start small: A 2–3 panel strip teaches you the workflow fast.
  • Write the punchline first: Work backward from your ending for tighter gags.
  • Keep characters consistent: Save them to the database once, reuse forever.
  • Use clear expressions: Big, readable emotions read better at small sizes.
  • Publish in a series: Series get followers and notifications — strips alone don't.

How the AI Works (Under the Hood)

MiniComix's AI co-pilot, MiCo, turns your text prompts into structured comic drafts. Describe a premise and MiCo proposes a panel breakdown, dialogue, captions, and art-direction notes. Each panel is then rendered as an image by our text-to-image model in the style you select.

Characters saved to the shared database are referenced for visual consistency, so the same hero looks recognisable across panels and issues. You can regenerate, edit, or swap any panel, and add speech bubbles and captions manually until the page reads exactly the way you want.

Automated moderation runs on both your script and the generated images to keep the platform policy-compliant, and you always review the final result before publishing — the AI assists, but you decide what ships.

Community Rules & Content Policy

To keep MiniComix open and welcoming, all creators agree to ourTerms of Service. Original work only: no copyrighted characters, brands, or artwork you don't have permission to use. No sexually explicit content, graphic violence, hate speech, harassment, or spam.

Every comic, series, character, and creator profile has a Reportbutton — use it to flag anything that breaks the rules. Our moderation team reviews reports and can remove content or ban accounts that violate the policy.

AI-generated content must follow the same rules: you are responsible for what you publish, even when the AI helped create it. Repeated or severe violations result in an immediate, permanent ban.
